how to pay your council tax

Choose from the options below to make your Council Tax payment. Payment should be received on your account by the due date. Some payment types can take up to five working days to be received on your account. If payments are not received by the due date a reminder may be issued.

Direct Debit

Paying by Direct Debit is the easy way to pay. If you do not already use this convenient method and wish to, click on this link and sign up on line. You can choose from one of the following payment dates ~ 5th, 15th or 25th of each month. Please have your account details to hand. Alternatively contact us on 01362 656871 and a member of staff will set a Direct Debit up with you.

Payment must be received by the 5th of the month for the following methods of payment:

By telephone

You can make a payment over the automated telephone line (24 hour) using your debit card. Please telephone 0845 600 1936 (calls charged at local rate). Please have your account details to hand

Standing Order

A Standing Order can be set up using the following information. Co-operative Bank plc, Breckland Council, sort code: 089014, account ref: 61546464 quoting your council tax account reference.

In Person

You can pay, with a bar-code, at any Post Office or at any shop displaying the PayPoint symbol. To get a bar-code please call 01362 656871.

By Post

Please send a cheque made payable to Breckland Council to Breckland Council, Elizabeth House, Walpole Loke, Dereham, Norfolk NR19 1EE. Please write your account number on the back of your cheque.

Post dated cheques are not accepted.

Cash is not accepted at any of the Breckland offices. However you can pay using your Debit Card.
